Health Risks of Dog Feces

the poop guys

Dealing with dog waste is a challenge that every pet owner has to deal with on a daily basis. Fortunately, there is a way to dispose off your dogs poop in an environmentally friendly manner while also making it easy for you every single day. Doggie Dooley disposal System has saved the day. It is basically a small septic tank that is installed underground and in which the dog waste is broken down.

To aid in breaking down the dog waste, you will need to add the digester that comes with the Doggie Dooley kit and water from time to time. The digester contains natural enzymes and bacteria which are totally harmless to the environment. They help to decompose the waste into liquid which is then absorbed into the ground. Besides ensuring that your yard is clean, the dog poop disposal produces no unpleasant smells at all.

One of the greatest advantages to the Doggy Dooley system tank besides convenience is in helping to protect the environment. Previously, dog owners largely used plastic bags to dispose of dog poop. The negative effect of these bags on the environment has been evident to all. The waste tank method solves every possible problem a dog owner has as far as dealing with dog waste goes, except scooping of course. The waste tank will leave your yard very safe from bacteria and viruses that would arise from composting the dog waste, which would in turn harm your health and that of your pets.

In doing some research recently, I wanted to find out the number of results on Google for the phrase "dogs poop." I was literally astonished (to put it mildly), at the fact that over 10 million results came up of videos, articles, and websites. I read a few of the articles and came to the conclusion that some of the authors were very well versed on the subject, and I must admit, that I did learn a thing or two or twenty. The thing that blew me away though, was the mass number of videos of dogs hunched over doing what they do after they ate a good meal (and from the number of videos posted, it looks like a lot of good eating was going on). Not the videos themselves mind you, (although I do wonder why someone would post a video of his dog taking a poo poo break), but my jaw dropped at the number of views that these "crappy" videos received. Sorry, you had to know that I would make that reference sooner or later. I mean some of theses videos had 500,000-600,000 views. Is there something that I am missing here? Don't people have anything better to do with their time than sit around watching dogs take a crap? What is the fascination one has with watching a strange dog (or his own dog) take a poo break? I know when I see my guys do their little circling antic and find the right spot to handle their business, I am the first to look away. I am going to see if I can come up with some answers in a future article and write about that and perhaps interview some people to find out why, so stay tuned. As for now, I want to address the articles written on the question as to why dogs eat their own poop?

Now before we go on talking about coprophagy and using words like disgust and yeeck to describe this natural act, let me bring up a couple other deplorable acts that we do as humans, that may have dogs scrunching their noses up at us. I have heard of certain experimenting people who dabble in a certain sexual dalliance that would resemble dogs eating poop and what they do is not called coprophagy! And can you say cannibalism? Something just doesn't seem natural about me barbequing my neighbor or like a certain incident that happened in Florida recently where a barbeque wasn't even needed where a guy ate another guy.

If we really are so hell bent on stopping our animals from eating their own poo poo, really there is one easy fix: PICK UP YOUR DOGS POOP IMMEDIATELY! This will not only stop coprophagy, but help stop the spread of such dangerous bacteria as E-Coli and other diseases that is prevalent in our pet's poo. And wouldn't it be so nice not to have to tippy toe around our parks or have to clean off our shoes after stepping in a pile?

So now that we have figured out how to stop our dogs from eating their poop, any ideas how to stop these people that look like they are trying to dig to China through their noses?

how do you clean up dog poop

As a professional pooper scooper the number one thing I hear from pet owners is, "What do you do with the poop?"

Before I answer how we do it, let's look at some of the more popular options available to dispose of the doo!

Dispose of it in the landfill

In many municipalities, there are no specific rules governing how to dispose of pet waste and thus it is included with regular household trash. Whether you reuse grocery bags, pick it up with a shovel or use biodegradable bags it can be placed in with your regular trash. In some areas of the country it is illegal to dispose of dog poop in the landfill. If in doubt, call your local municipality to find out the rules.

To answer the question... In our location, the best way to dispose of pet waste is to double bag the pet waste and take it to the local landfill. In order to lessen our effect on the environment we use biodegradable bags that are made out of recycled plastic. You should always check the laws in your local area as the rules for disposing of pet waste vary from municipality to municipality.

We hope you will check back as we continue provide pet owners and lovers with valuable information!
